THE SOUND OF THE DUNES
Created by the artist Rainier Lericolais, the audio walk “Le son des dunes” evokes the history of the Grand Large neighbourhood in Dunkirk, formerly the Chantier Naval de France shipyard.
This work also evokes a unique event in the history of Dunkirk: on 25 June 1658, during the Battle of the Dunes, Dunkirk was under Spanish control in the morning, French control at midday and English control in the evening. Take your pupils on this self-guided walking tour between the Frac and the LAAC. An educational pack is available on the Frac’s website.
