Collection
With over 2,000 works by 812 French and international artists – including a donation of 512 drawings by Christine Deknuydt from Dunkirk – the FRAC’s collection is built on a remarkable foundation of art and design works representing the major contemporary art movements (Minimal Art, Pop Art, Conceptual Art, Arte Povera, Fluxus, gestural painting, etc.) from the 1960s to the present day.
The collection is developed along four main themes, which guide new acquisitions:

The works brought together here challenge not only geopolitical boundaries but also those between disciplines (painting, sculpture, writing, sound, etc.) and explore the circulation of forms, ideas and imaginations across different continents.
Boasting a rich collection of photographs and installation works, the Frac is also the only institution to have established an acquisition policy focused on design. Internationally recognised, this collection of icons of European design reflects a keen awareness of our social, economic and ecological context.

Loans
The Frac Grand Large can be approached regarding the loan of works from its collection for temporary exhibitions, both in France and abroad.
Deposits
Some of the FRAC’s works may be loaned to other institutions for periods ranging from 3 to 5 years.
Building together
As part of its remit to promote its collection across the region and raise awareness of art, the Frac supports exhibition projects.
