Cultural partners
The Frac Grand Large fosters a culture of sharing and collaboration between artists, professionals, educators, organisations and public sector partners.
Its work, in conjunction with that of the Frac Picardie, helps to ensure a regional network covering the whole of the Hauts-de-France region.
The Frac Grand Large is working in partnership with the French Ministry of Education on the ‘Elèves à l’œuvre’ project in schools across the Lille Academy (primary and secondary education).
The Frac has established numerous bespoke partnerships with higher education institutions such as the region’s art colleges (ESA Dunkerque/Tourcoing, ESAD Amiens, ESAC Cambrai), Le Fresnoy – National Studio for the Visual Arts and universities (Lille, Dunkerque, etc.).
Across the regions, the Frac is developing partnerships with a wide variety of venues: within the arts sector (museums, historic monuments, galleries, foundations, amateur arts schools, etc.) and with third-party venues (derelict industrial sites, community centres, socio-cultural organisations, prisons, etc.).
He also works regularly with media libraries (Loon Plage, Bonningues-lès-Calais, etc.) and organisations in the educational and social sectors (ADUGES, Association Horizon, Asylum Seekers’ Reception Centre, Cultures du Cœur, Eco-Chalet, Les Papillons Blancs, Judicial Protection of Young People, etc.).
In the Dunkirk area, the FRAC collaborates with the Dunkirk Contemporary Art Network (LAAC, Le Château Coquelle, CIAC, La Plate-Forme, the Museum of Drawing and Original Prints in Gravelines, the École Supérieure d’Art du Nord-Pas de Calais / Dunkirk-Tourcoing, Fructôse, Galerie Robespierre, and the CLEA residencies) and REZO (a network for exchange amongst cultural and social sector organisations in Dunkirk).
It also fosters regular partnerships with La Halle aux sucres, Studio 43, Le Bateau Feu, Les 4Ecluses, Les B!B, the Centre de la Mémoire Urbaine d’agglomération, the Musée Portuaire, the Conservatoire de musique et d’art dramatique, and others.
The Frac Grand Large is part of a number of regional professional networks (50°Nord – a cross-border contemporary art network, Musenor – the association of curators in the Hauts-de-France region, Collectif ÉCHO, Collection Culture Durable); national networks (Platform – a consortium of regional contemporary art collections, Videomuseum – a shared database for public collections) and international networks (ICOM – International Council of Museums, IKT – International Association of Contemporary Art Curators).
The Frac Grand Large — Hauts-de-France receives support from the State (Hauts-de-France Regional Directorate for Cultural Affairs), the Hauts-de-France Region, the Departments of Nord and Pas-de-Calais, and Dunkerque Grand Littoral/Urban Community.
