RÉSISTANCES : MÉMOIRES D’HIER ET D’AUJOURD’HUI
17.05.2025 — 31.08.2025
Frac Grand Large — Hauts-de-France

As part of MEMORY, the program of commemorations for the 85th anniversary of Operation Dynamo and the 80th anniversary of the Liberation of Dunkirk by the Urban Community of Dunkirk, the Frac Grand Large is presenting a new exhibition: “Resistances: Memories of Yesterday and Today.”
Drawing on a selection of works from the Frac’s collection, this exhibition highlights the many forms of resistance — individual, collective, and symbolic — through the lens of contemporary art. Works by Ben, Christian Boltanski, Barbara Kruger, and many other artists explore the mechanisms of memory, the traces of history, and the contemporary echoes of commitment.
An invitation to reflect on our relationship with the past, but also to consider the forms of resistance that shape our present.
Featuring works by BEN, Régis BAUDY, Marianne BERENHAUT, Christian BOLTANSKI, Ève-Gabriel CHABANON, Leo COPERS, Thomas GALLER, Barbara KRUGER, Dmitri MAKHOMET, Helen MIRRA, Clément RODZIELSKI, Allen RUPPERSBERG, Jean-Louis SCHOELLKOPF, Collier SCHORR, and Mark WALLINGER.
